Programme Highlights
Sydney is the chosen destination for the 2024 overseas technical visit. The visit will include tours of fire test laboratories and research centers at universities, as well as the recent large-scale building developments that use timber materials. Participants will also have the chance to explore iconic architectural and art galleries that incorporate fire engineering design and solutions. The visit aims to enrich participants’ knowledge of state-of-the-art fire engineering technology, fire safety, and firefighting operations, as well as provide networking opportunities with fire professionals in Sydney.

Registration & Enquiries
For the visit, prior registration is required and interested HKIE members should register below.
Please note that all applicants shall provide their ENGLISH FULL NAME shown on their passport, their contact details, and HKIE membership number. For successful applicants, more details will be required for flight and hotel booking. Members are required to apply for their own visa for traveling to Sydney if needed and ensure their own passport validity is more than 6 months. The organizer reserves the right to reject those applications without the required information submitted.
The number of participants is limited to 20, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to HKIE Fire Division members. Limited places with sponsorship are allocated to students with a keen interest in fire engineering design and fire safety measures. The deadline for application is 31st January 2024 at noon. Successful applicants will be notified by email, and the method of payment to HKIE Fire Division will be notified accordingly.
