Programme Highlights

The Kai Tak Sports Park is set to become Hong Kong’s largest integrated sports and entertainment complex. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2025, it will feature world-class facilities, including a 50,000-seat main stadium, a 10,000-seat indoor sports center, and a 5,000-seat public sports ground.

The fire engineering design for the Kai Tak Sports Park, including the main stadium, is handled by ARUP, a renowned engineering consultancy. Here are some key aspects of the fire engineering work:

• Advanced Fire Detection and Alarm Systems: These systems are designed to quickly identify and alert occupants to any fire incidents.
• Smoke Control Systems: These systems help manage and control the spread of smoke, ensuring safe evacuation routes and minimizing smoke inhalation risks.
• Fire-Resistant Materials: The use of fire-resistant materials in construction helps to contain fires and prevent them from spreading.
• Evacuation Planning: Detailed evacuation plans and procedures are in place to ensure the safe and efficient evacuation of all occupants in case of an emergency.

These measures are part of a comprehensive approach to fire safety, ensuring that the stadium meets stringent safety standards and provides a secure environment for all visitors and staff.
